Daniel Rose, Owner of Kefalonia Property Care

Passionate about people, property and Kefalonia.

Daniel has had a varied and exciting career spanning many different sectors. Following an early start in young peoples education and social work he had an opportunity to blend his enthusiasm for heritage with youth and community engagement when he joined the National Trust head office in 2005.

Daniel spent 5 years designing and managing national programmes to engage and champion young peoples involvement in the National Trust which led him into the field of market research.

A further 6 years at the National Trust he became a senior manager within the Audience Insight Team with a focus on leading research into volunteering; fundraising; employee engagement and new customers.

During his working life Daniel also undertook a huge amount of charity work. He sat on several charity boards and spent over 10 years running a successful community heritage organisation focused on the regeneration and management of historic buildings and communities, becoming its first Executive Director. This long term commitment built up a wealth of operational and management experience of property management; renovation and commercial operations, often involving complex buildings. Everything from public venues to cafes, museums, residential buildings and tenant management.

By 2016 Daniel had become a freelance consultant supporting heritage organisations and charities to achieve their goals. He spent 3 years as a consultant to the Architectural Heritage Fund in London focusing on saving historic buildings in the capital and supporting organisations with specialist property management and financial support in particular.

Since moving to Kefalonia Daniel has also renovated several properties and created a holiday let from a restored pre-earthquake building which gained fantastic reviews when it opened in 2019.

All of these roles have given Daniel a varied and unique blend of skills and experiences which ultimately result in an ability to communicate effectively with people. He’s known for getting projects completed to a high standard and often negotiating tricky issues. He has a passion for property and visitors to Kefalonia and wants to turn his skills, experience and love of the island to help support property owners and their special ‘place in the sun’.
